Glacial Communications

A mix of various and sundry samples from my massive collection thereof. Special guest next week. You heard it here first. or maybe second.

A mix of the FAX Records "Alien Community II" album, and some various loops I've been working on (some on actual instruments, some in GB, some SID emulated).

This ended up being a collaged mash of the rec.music.industrial Mind/Body CDs (I have all three sets and the Children of Mind/Body that came out between the second and third). Why?  Because the Usenet server that I discovered these gems on is going away soon. These discs were highly influential to me - I discovered The Evolution Control Committee through them, as well as others.

I discovered today that there is photo evidence of my performance at Recycled Rainbow in September:

I’m on the left playing my Juno-1, Atari Punk Console, and Palm Tungsten E. The other gear, was, uh, left at home (I officially suck). Skin Graft is on the right with his box of tricks.

Whee! I’m running 2.3.1 now. No major problems so far (though I had to upgrade FeedWordPress and the Google Sitemap Generator since those had compatibility issues)

I’m also attempting OpenID commenting again. Hopefully it works better than last time – it seems to so far…

Very Theremin-intensive.

The bulk of the first hour was a field recording of Robert Wheeler (of Pere Ubu fame) demonstrating/performing on Theremin and EML 101 Synthesizer at the Avon Lake Public Library on October 29, 2007.

The second hour featured an edited field recording of me(!) performing on a Theremin during Trick-or-Treat on Halloween 2006.
