Recent progress

Some projects I’ve been working on of late:

Made some progress on the MIDIbox SID – I did some more work on getting the enclosure(an old 2U satellite receiver) ready and figured out the next batch of parts necessary to get it completed.
Did a serious revamp on the Arduino Sequencer last night – it now [...]

End of August Progress Report

A few recent things of note:
1. I’ve got “Operation De-Jank the Modular” well underway. Quite a few minor issues have been resolved. Strangely, the most common problem has been “component wasn’t soldered in yet” (Oops). There are still some issues yet to be resolved, but it’s moving along. I think it’s also time I added [...]

GLAC-2 reissue reviewed…maybe?

Sunday morning I re-re-issued GLAC-2 in an expanded form, with the extended version of ‘Oscillator Drift’, which samples, amongst other things, the Russian ‘buzzer’ station UVB-76.
This morning, I check my usual news sources, and find out that UVB-76 has made a rare voice transmission.
Now I just have to figure out if “93 882 naimina [...]

Re-re-released – GLAC-2

I realized recently that the next available catalog number was GLAC-20, which seems like a good point for some sort of compilation. One is coming (it’ll be all previously unreleased or currently unavailable archive material, some dating back quite a ways), but in the meantime I’m going to revamp and reissue the current backcatalog, remastering [...]

Here is the playlist from my DJ set at The Champagne of Fests IV last night. I’ve added some annotations in brackets. There were also some occasional Conet Project samples dropped in at points.

AHMW 2010 Electro Jam

Here’s a recording of an Electro jam session a number of AHMW participants did on Saturday.

syncretism & Donald Crunk: Evenfall Mini Modular being controlled by a Frostwave Fat Controller (I think?)

AHMW 2010 recap

I went to AHMW (Analog Heaven Midwest) in Indiana yesterday. Pictures are here if you want to see them. I recorded a bit on my Tascam DR-07, and will be putting some of that somewhere soon.
Some thoughts:

I really shouldn’t have played with the new Tom Oberheim SEM. I want one now. I probably won’t get [...]

Send me your samples!

I’ve just had an idea for a little experiment.
I’ve got this SoundCloud account, and for the next couple of weeks I’ve got tons of storage there (the RPM Challenge did a promo code thing with SoundCloud, and that promo upgrade expires on the 22nd.)
So, I’m actively requesting samples to be used on a future project. [...]

Restarting DIY Operations

Now that the album is finished, it’s time to get back to doing other stuff. Building gear, in particular.
A summary of things occuring in the near-term:
1) Website changes – I’ve changed the theme (yet again), and installed the BuddyPress plugin, so now everything’s all social and stuff. There will probably be some adjustments here and [...]
