8/08/13 – Some near term projects

As 8/08 is a special day at Glacial Communications, it’s time to talk about the future. So here’s the plan as I see it (subject to change, of course):

New glacial23 album (titled “Dipole”) is completed (except artwork), and coming out very soon, probably just after VOV. There will also be a free companion release (“Limited, Vol. 2”) released simultaneously and available for about a week.

I also hope to announce a limited special something else before the end of the year. Stay tuned.

Between now and then, there are also plans for a compilation appearance, a DJ mix, and several shows in multiple states.

Thanks for all your support, everyone!

Free Download Weekend II!

We had such a great response to giving away everything earlier this year that we’re doing it again! From July 19th-21st, all downloads at our bandcamp site will be available for the low price of $0. Just click “Buy Now” and enter zero when prompted.

To sweeten the deal, we’ve also got an exclusive download (called ‘Limited, Vol. 1‘) that will only be available during this weekend. It features some oddities and rare tracks going back to the year 2000. You can get that here.

In other news, a new glacial23 album is just about ready – we’re putting the final touches on it, and hope to have it out soon.

Thanks for being interested in what we do!

Spring events

Work continues on some new recordings, but in the meantime, I thought I’d fill in everyone on some live performances happening in the next few months.

First up, I’ll be doing a two hour performance(!) at the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland (MOCA) on March 15th, along with Jeremy Bible of Experimedia providing live video manipulations. Details and ticket information can be found at the MOCA website.

Next is the April 7th edition of the First Sunday Noise Series (aka “Noise Lunch”) at Now That’s Class on the West Side. I’m not performing at that show, but I am curating it. The theme is “Noisy Techno”, and the lineup I’ve put together looks pretty killer. Details on the event can be found here. I’m hoping to also release a compilation CDR to go along with it- more details on that in a couple of weeks.

Finally, I’ll be performing in Columbus on Friday, May 3rd, as part of the Fuse Factory Frequency Fridays series. They’re doing a kickstarter to raise funds for this season- if you’d like to contribute, you can check it out here.

New Release- GLAC-29: Chute

Work is progressing on a couple of new projects, but here are a few new tracks to check out- a couple of danceable pieces and one for the noise-heads.

You can download the release at our bandcamp page. It’s free for at least this weekend (just enter $0 for the price), so get it soon!

Also, for those in Northeast Ohio, I’ll be playing on Saturday, January 26th at Wilbert’s in downtown Cleveland. Information about that event can be found here.
